What would the fear of facebook, msn or other social networking sites be called? Also is there a name for the fear of meeting someone you don't know online?What would the fear of social or online networking be called?
Sociophobia is the fear of society or people in general. Technophobia is fear of technology. Though no official name for fear of social networking sites, or for fear of meeting someone you don't know online appears to be listed, many new psychological phenomena related to technology are in the midst of being classified.



Perhaps an amalgamation of the two listed phobias would be adequate? Socio-technophobia may be close to what you are seeking.What would the fear of social or online networking be called?

socialis commissura phobia (latin, I'm 85% sure this would be the correct phrase), is caused by the fear of posting something online and then having your posts or photos found by someone you know, or maybe even your employer or future employer.



As more and more people get online and start using social networking sites, more and more people are in danger of having their personal lives found out. If you post something about your sex life and your mom found it, you might be devastated. If you post photos of you at a wild party and your boss found it, you could be fired.



Employers and future employers are also using social networking sites and blogs to find out more about you before they hire you. If you're looking for a job, you may want to be careful what you post.

1. Don't post your real name.

2. Don't post pics of your face.

3. Don't post on your site or blog where you live, work or go to school.

4. Don't post photos of your family and friends.
