Suppose u r in field of networking, according to you what is that in field of networking that makes it stand out among others?Networking?
I love my line of work because I have to really use my brain. I get paid to figure things out. I am a support engineer for one of the major software vendors; I never get bored because every day is challenging. Plus the money and the benefits are great, and I usually get to work from home.
uh..I'll bite...
A: Networks?!?Networking?
Knowing other products like SQL Server, Oracle, Exchange, etc.
the handling of fiber optic cables to transfer data from node to node and peer to peer.
setting up connections within a computer as well as the connecting of cordsNetworking?
I have no idea what you just asked. Maybe that's why you don't stand out?
Creating the ability to share all sorts of data quickly (and securely when required) with end-users world wide. It can be pictures, presentations, data, reports, etc.
Just as telegraph and telephone communications were the life blood of the industrial age, networking is the life blood of the informational age. Nowadays, networks are what gets business done.
I think what makes networking stand out is that you can't be just a network tech. well not easily most companies want you to be a sysadmin.
Now being a sys admin i find is something special youll never beable to find in another job. Youll have your desk but you will spend more time helping people out around the office. if there isnt any work there you get to spend time configing the routers and servers. Depending on the company this is the true feeling of GOD. I am a mac sys admin so i am root and root is god. If its a big company you hold in your hands the companies ablity top run smoothly if your not there the world becomes a harsh place for your boss and everyone else cause you have the knowledge which means you get treated very well. also you get to fiddle with thousands sometimes hundreds of thousands of dallors in equipment.
This is my favorite part i spent this week in a lab that had a price tag of just over $500,000. I am a geek so this is hugely exciting i could never afford to buy one of these servers and i got to configure them all make sure everything was backed up and redunadant so no matter what happens no one in the company would notice a single hickup even if the main server crashed.
then once all thats done its a pretty easy job just relax and help the idiots who cant get there password to work cause caps is on.
and i mean its a feeling of real power after configureing a server room then going to a city two hours away right now and i can config from here i can also get in and see what someone is doing with their computer.
I would say networking is fun running the wires and configing routers but if you can get the sys admin job its way more fun in the job run.
